Absalom is a hand made vase designed and created in stoneware clay and finished with glazes and oxide washes. The face was sculpted on after vase assembly and crown with scrolling embellishments were added last. The overall piece was finished with an oxide wash that was wiped back to bring out fine details and glaze was added to crown eyes and scroll work for contrasting pops of color. This was one of my very favorite pieces and I hated to let it go!
