These beautifully intricate bird sculptures are truly a labor of love. Each one is born for individuality and creates itself thru my hands as I build. There are no duplicates and there is no template past the base form. All other additions to their design is strictly related to themselves. I totally love creating these and allowing my vision to flow into each one as it inspires me. For the glazes I utilize my own ash glaze recipes that I spent a year harvesting and burning different wood types to harvest ash that was then tested and retested to find a hand-full of perfect glazes. The testing is ongoing so there will be more over time, but I have enough in my arsenal at this point to create a variety of glaze colors in my pottery.
