Fluted rim bowl is created with one of my bisqueware templates I designed as a bottom with a flowing rim creating visual interest and playful whimsey. All glazes are food safe, and this bowl could be used for food or food serving purposes if desired so let your imagination run wild!
I opted for a Lavender color pop in the center with my standard liner glaze on the rim to make a striking contrast. The bottom base is enhanced with an oxide wash to bring out the design and create additional visual interest.
For the glazes I utilize my own ash glaze recipes that I spent a year harvesting and burning different wood types to harvest ash that was then tested and retested to find a hand-full of perfect glazes. The testing is ongoing so there will be more over time, but I have enough in my arsenal at this point to create a variety of glaze colors in my pottery.
This means you are getting a very unique piece of functional art bearing my mark from start to finish. I hope you love them as much as I do!
